Hiding in your phone...

Hiding in your phone
You don't want anyone to see you
It makes you feel safe
Thinking that you are connecting through it
But really being and feeling more disconnected than ever
It has become part of you
It has become part of your false sense of confidence
A confidence that has no roots
No depth
That is fragile and shaky
That falls down deep underground at the face of any perceived rejection or
lack of validation from the outside world
Stumbling, falling
And then searching for meaning in it
Trying to find something that makes you feel valuable, that you matter
But you will never find it in that piece of equipment
No matter how hard, how long, and how often you look
That object with advance technology will never ever give you what you are
searching for
It will never ever give you what you feel is missing inside
Whatever you feel is missing inside
Is only found within
Nowhere else...
